verysoftwares roadmap

In 2025, my gamedev career is at a turning point.

I have been building my portfolio with small experimental games for many years. Now I'm looking to scale up to commercial games that build on all these playable things I already have.

Look forward to the following LÖVE projects on Steam, released in order of increasing complexity:

  Momentum   (2015, 2022, 2025)

Reaction-heavy arcade high-scoring game. Demo here

This project has quite the history, this will be a 2025 remake of the 2022 LÖVE remake of my 2015 Flash game. You play in a diamond-shaped arena that shifts as you play, and your goal is simply to survive without getting crushed by the moving parts or falling out.

The Steam page is under construction, it's a lot of work filling all the forms and especially making all the necessary images. Planned price is $3, and I'm not expecting a financial jackpot - what I have to gain are Steam presence and the experience of having released a commercial project.

There are many planned improvements. Using the Steam API, Momentum can have online leaderboards! And I'm looking forward to adding longevity in the form of new unlockables, game modes, and powerups. I've also realized that the game lacks characterization, I mean the player is just a ball with no features. My early games were usually like this, I focused all my efforts on game mechanics while featuring minimal assets. Which is fine for an MVP, but I need to consider first impressions to make something marketable.

finding yourself in the forest   (2019, 2020, 2025-2026)

Poetic narrative game featuring resource management. Demo here

So a 2026 LÖVE remake of a 2020 TIC-80 remake of my 2019 TIC-80 release. In each of these versions the main mechanic is eating various types of food that grant you limited uses of specific verbs. On your journey through the forest, you can make positive and negative thoughts pop up, and in the end you are judged for what you've read. The game is inspired by very early adventure games and has a bit of a roguelite structure, with a narrator giving you hints between attempts.

The upcoming Steam version is going to have HD vector graphics, new original music, and an extended storyline ending in a final boss fight against an AI trained on your actions.

  Leonard Somero's Magical Arcade!   (2023-2027)

20 verysoftwares games connected by a 3D overworld, a shared currency, and a comical meta-narrative. More info here

  Summon   (2016-203x)
